Our Facilities
Vecima Networks operates a manufacturing plant, research and development, marketing and administration center in Saskatoon, as well as executive offices, a microwave systems research and development laboratory and RF product manufacturing facilities in Victoria.
Saskatoon Facilities
We own 129,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space in Saskatoon. The principal facility is a 90,000 square foot building that houses all of the Saskatoon manufacturing operations, as well as administration, research and development, and marketing functions. The test-bed cable and wireless systems are operated from one of our separate facilities in Saskatoon, while a third facility is leased to another electronics manufacturing firm.

Our Saskatoon plant is qualified as an ISO 9001:2004 supplier and maintains a rigorous quality program throughout design, manufacturing and testing. Our proprietary manufacturing productivity software allows us to track all stages of design and manufacturing, including document control, incoming component qualification and final product testing using a bar code system. Product tracking throughout the manufacturing process translates into efficient utilization of resources and rapid response to customer requests for product. Vecima Networks performs most of the critical manufacturing related functions in-house, including RF assembly, final integration and testing, manufacturing engineering and development of manufacturing test procedures. Many of the subsystem components are sourced from specialized manufacturers and contractors. We have set up an in house surface mount assembly production capacity to complement outsourcing of this assembly work. This provides flexibility, pre-testing and rapid turn around of new products and significant improvements to bottom line performance.
In addition to its subsystem design library, Vecima Networks has developed a number of processes, procedures and test jigs for manufacturing cost-effective and reliable products. We have developed and upgraded our custom software for production assembly and test processes. Bar code readers are installed at each assembly and test station and control is maintained though a computer network utilizing our proprietary tracking software. This proprietary process software is also a strong defense against misuse of our intellectual property through reverse engineering. The actual components of the various Vecima Networks solutions can be physically identified, but the sequential testing and subsystem interoperability is controlled by manufacturing software not contained in the products shipped.
Victoria Facilities
Vecima Networks owns an 8,000 square foot facility in Victoria. Approximately 4,200 square feet of this space is used for executive offices and as a microwave research and development laboratory with prototype fabrication facilities. The remaining 3,800 square feet of space accommodates production of broadband wireless products.
The microwave research laboratory is equipped to design microwave products and houses all the necessary equipment and tools to rapidly bring new variations and products to the market. The Company has leased an additional 7,000 square feet of manufacturing space for wireless products in Victoria and has acquired land for the construction of a 25,000 square foot building to consolidate British Columbia operations.
